Yes, the web is filled with New Year’s resolutions pieces, but that’s because they can be both fun and important, depending on your viewpoint. Writing your own post about resolutions is valuable because the topic is widely-searched and while it may seem like there’s nothing new to say, you’d be surprised.
One way to keep it new is if you make it personal: what resolution(s) are you making and why. And that’s the perfect opportunity for a video or at least an audio – to really make it personal. This also gives you the opportunity to follow-up with a post or two later in the year talking about your progress with the resolution.
If you don’t want to discuss your own resolutions, you can write about the topic in general:
- What you think makes a good resolution
- A resolution you’ve heard or read about, and your opinion of it
- Why you think we should/shouldn’t make resolutions
This is also a good opportunity to write a sharing post, if you can find a good article about topics like:
- Why people like to make resolutions
- Why resolutions so often fail
- Tips for making resolutions
- Famous resolutions by leaders, celebrities, and so on
One thing I would suggest is being authentic about your take on resolutions, even if you’re simply sharing somone else’s article. In other words, if you believe resolutions are important or can be helpful, then say so. If you think they’re a bit of fun, then be playful with your tone.
And don’t forget to share whatever you do on your social network(s).
What's Your Take?
