Online image editors like PicMonkey or Canva make it easy to spice up the photos you use on your website.
Take this image of a door bolt from my collection of free downloadable photos (yes, indeed, take it!):
I like the angle of the shot and the narrow depth of field. And the colours are nice too, but watch what happens when I apply some effects after uploading it to PicMonkey. I literally just clicked a button to get these:
You can click on the images to see a slideshow of the large versions. This is only a small sampling of the available effects and be aware that the images with the PicMonkey logo are only available with the paid version.
Just click on the magic wand icon to bring up the full list of effects in PicMonkey – there’s a thumbnail giving you an idea of what the effect is. And you have some controls for playing with how heavily it’s applied to your photo.
All online image editors have some version of these effects, as do offline software packages.
So take those everyday images and make them pop!
