UPDATE: Here’s a quick guide from the Canva.com website, which is a handy, free online photo editor that I use for making images for social media (though you can use it for anything):
Profile Picture
This is a square image at the bottom left of the header – 180 x 180 pixels
Cover photo
This is the big image at the top of the page – 815 x 315 pixels

This is a square image at the top left hand sidebar – 400 x 400 pixels
Header Photo
This is the big image across the top of the page – 1500 x 500 pixels
